Memories

1. A couple years ago i was at home, sick. Ryan was moved out into the apartment attached to my dad's shop then. One day he came over and asked me if i wanted to go to the theater and see Cars with him. He took me and even paid for it. It was an amazing movie and i still love it.
2. Christmas Eve 2007...The family was at my grandparents' house in Medical Lake, including Aimee and Ryan. We had been unwrapping gifts and the floor was covered with various items, ranging from Rosetta's new toys to wrapping paper, to....bows. Aimee and i were looking at quite a beautiful bow, feeling happy and sitting on the couch. Once Aimee said "Iss a bow!" in a peculiar manner, i started laughing. She said it in a very laughable way. It lingers in the funny section of my brain. Aimee's special.
3. i was hanging out at Shawn Wetzel's house with Jessica in her bedroom, and we were playing around with her scarves. i put mine on my head and wrapped it so that i looked like a muslim woman. She put hers on her head, too and she looked like a ninja. Both our scarves were black. It looked cool. Fo sho. We took a picture. i decided to name it the terrorist-ninja alliance.
4. Jessica and i were at the River Park Square mall one day...for what reason i don't remember. But while we were waiting for something(again, i don't remember what)we decided to stand by the railing on one of the upper levels and drop coins on unsuspecting victims' heads as they were going up or down on the escalator. i laughed ridiculously until one lady came up to me with coin in hand, asking, "Did you lose this?" i kinda didn't know what to say. After muttering something unrecognizable and half-cowardly, the angry woman turned around and left. Inflation occurs, but the value of coins continues to rise.
5. One year at camp Kelsey Anderson and i found each other in the same cabin. The first night was like we were high on something. For no reason at all we crammed onto her narrow wooden bunk and slept there almost all night(though i should mention that i left for the warm, more space-filled confines of my own wooden bunk, across the room, at 2).
6. In the summer of 2008 Jessica and i liked going to town to the mall and the Riverfront Park. She had her longboard and i was equipped with my skateboard, which i had named "Bloody Mary." So we would often skate around and then lay down in the grass, eating cheez-its. One of those times we were at Guitar Center, just looking around. In the entrance hall of Guitar Center, before you go into the actual store, there's a small stage with chairs and a coffee table on it when shows aren't in session there. So we went up there and decided to do cartwheels and front-hand-springs off of it. Shawn just sat in a chair and watched while Shawna, Jessica, and i each endeavored to do something gymnasticy off of it.
7. Body-sliding. If you haven't slid your body a reasonable distance on some slippery surface, you haven't lived. One evening in the winter of one year, Abigail and i were hanging out at her house. Their slightly sloped driveway was coated in smooth ice. We decided to slide on the ice with our bodies, like sliding on a slip n' slide in the summer. It was fun and i think she even got a wound from it.
8. Abigail and Ruth endeavored to test their skateboard skills at the skateboard park in Airway Heights with Aimee Hagel one hot Thursday afternoon. Ruth panicked every time she tried to go down any ramps, and Abigail managed to get one tasteful strawberry injury on her knee. A day full of accomplishments and sticky girl sweat.
9. Abigail and i got these awesome umbrellas. They were children's umbrellas off of Amazon. She got a Dinosaur one and i got a cow one.
10. Abigail took me with her to college one day so that she could teach me how to swim properly in the pool there. On our way to study somewhere, she goes up to a group of friends to say hi. Her friend Cheryl was there and i guess she had talked to Cheryl about her teaching me to swim that day. Cheryl says, "Oh is this the girl you're teaching to swim today?"(or something to that effect)and the whole group heard it. It was really funny and i think Abigail was kind of sheepish about it.
11. Ryan, Aimee, Janae, and i enjoyed a fun day at Silverwood on August 10th, 2009. We had decided to go on the scary new ride, Aftershock, at least once before we left. For the whole day we went everywhere but Aftershock. i was freaked out of my mind...really scared about it. The anticipation built up and up all day long...My brother was very kind to offer his services. Ryan told me he would sit with me in the middle to help me with it...Aimee was stoked. Janae was excited and scared. i was just scared. Ryan was uneasy about it. Water parks. Roller coasters. Food. Finally, near the close of the day, we finally stood in line for the ride. We stood there for what seemed like a short amount of time.....though i'm sure, looking back now, it must have been at least ten minutes.
It was time to get buckled in for the ride. i buckled myself in with a sure hand, but not a sure stomach. Suddenly my mind was beset with worry! i still had one more option...i could abort the operation! My hand shook over the handle...Ryan looked over at me and seemd to know my thoughts. He gave me a smile and took my hand, holding it FIRMLY. Metal noises were heard. We knew the ride was getting started. Up we went...high in the sky...our hair hanging down. The coaster shot down, like a bullet from a gun played on fast forward. i closed my eyes for one second. i didn't let go of his hand for the whole ride. During the ride i realized that it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. We were twirling and giong upside down and my favorite: going fast. Afterward i was glad we went. Yeah, i shook afterward, but adrenaline has that effect on people. i know i couldn't have done it without my brother. Cheers!
